Al-Qaida leader’s wife gets 20 years in prison
Hasna Ali Yahya, the Yemeni wife of Abu Ayyub al-Masri, was convicted last Thrusday by an Iraqi court to 20 years in prison on terrorism related charges, according to Iraqi Supreme Judicial Council spokesman Abdul-Sattar Bayrkdar.
GOVERNMENT YET TO DRAFT FINAL LOKPAL BILL
The government on Friday said that it was yet to begin with the final drafting of the Lokpal bill and was open to face fresh suggestions with regard to the bill before sending the bill to the cabinet for final approval. Law Minister M Veerappa Moily said that what they have is not the final draft bill but it is the draft from the government representatives in the joint drafting committee. He also added that after receiving feedback from the political parties, they will work on the final drafting of the bill and will send it to various ministers for consultation, following which would be placed before the cabinet.

Brazil- Eight drug dealers die in Rio raid

GOVERNMENT DRAFT A HOAX – TEAM ANNA HAZARE
Team Anna on Wednesday accused the Union government of indulging in a misinformation campaign and playing a hoax on people in the name of the Lokpal Bill. It also appealed to MPs to first interact with their constituencies and then exercise their legislative duties as parliamentarians in enacting the proposed historic law against corruption.
PMO TO RELEASE MANMOHAN-RAJA CORRESPONDENCE
Confirmation came from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Wednesday, that the correspondence between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the then Telecommunications Minister, A.Raja, on the implementation of the telecom policy and 2G spectrum pricing to an applicant under Right to Information Act (RTI) after Central Information Commission (CIC) reworded the specific information sought by the petitioner as his queries were in Hindi which was a mix of allegations and his desire for what the nation should be.
