M.K. Stalin had paid his half-sister and the party M.P. Kanimozhi, a visit in the women’s jail for about half an hour on Monday afternoon, after he met her more than a month after.

It was on May 24^th, at the CBI Court; Stalin met Kanimozhi for the last time, four days after she was arrested in connection with the 2G scam. Stalin also met ex-telecom Minister A. Raja and Managing Director of Kalaignar T. V. Sharad Kumar.

On Monday morning, he flew into the city from Chennai.

Neeraj Kumar, DG (prisons), stated that, on Monday morning they have received a request through fax that, the three would like to meet Kanimozhi, Raja and Sharad Kumar between 4p.m and 6p.m for which they gave the permission. He also added that for about half an hour each, they met each of their intimates in their respective jails.

It was explained by the jail source that, in jail number 6, Stalin first met his sister at 4p.m. Kanimozhi despite being in jail for over a month now, became very emotional when she saw her brother, after she entered the assistant superintendent’s room where the mulaqaat was taking place. For a long time, Stalin clasped her and gave talk to her in Tamil. She kept nodding and after some consoling was able to reply back in Tamil. For at least 30 min they kept n talking while Baalu and Vijayan addressed some questions to her one or two times.

In the Tihar jail functionings, Kanimozhi has managed to remain quite involved, and has been one of the most obedient high-profile inmates, who have asked for nothing unlike the others. She has also asked to be taken around the jail where there are a lot of vocational units in place like candle-making, potter-making, tailoring section, crotchet work, etc.
