He wrote in the letter that the life of one member of Parliament is unimportant when compared to the existence of 115 crore people of this nation. He therefore humbly requested to grant permission to allow mercy killing as a means to protest against the uncontrolled inflation which is equivalent to death.
In the rural areas, people can barely have two meals a day. They cannot meet the school fees of their children and are unable to meet the medical expenditure of their aged parents. Crores of people are living under the burden of increase of living costs. He believes that it is better to die rather than have crores of country’s poor perishing on a daily basis.
Copies of the letter were also sent to the Chief Justice of India S H Kapadia, Sushma Swaraj and leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Arun Jaitley.
