India puts off border talks with China
Moderate Islamists claim Moroccan election win
On Tuesday the Morocco’s Justice and Development Party (PJD) became the 2nd moderate Islamic to lead a North African government since the start of the Arab Spring uprisings after it won the parliamentary elections in Morocco. This was after the ruler of Morocco King Mohammed gave away some of his powers to avoid any protests which have occurred in the likes of Syria and Egypt.
Google bus begins service in West Bengal
Google’s noble initiative, the Google Internet Bus service has expanded to the West Bengal also. Google began the Google bus service in the year 2009 and so far it has covered 11 states and 130 cities, travelling 50,000 km. the Google Bus is equipped with computers and mobile terminals, all connected to the Internet.
AIR India gets green signal from RBI
The new loan revamp plan of the loss making industry of Air India has got an approval from the Reserve Bank Of India today. The restructured proposal was submitted by SBI Caps for the airline. Banks will now be able to extend the tenure of loans and convert part of loans into cumulative redeemable preference shares (CRPS) and cash credit. According to this new revamp, banks will be given a time period of 4 months to restructure its process.
Going by this restructuring process, the repayment period for loans is likely to be raised to 15 years from the current 10 years. It is also hinted that the interest rates are likely to come down. However, officials at the RBI said that this has got nothing to with Air India. The restructuring plan is for the banks.
However, such a revamp will indirectly help Air India to come out of his debts and losses. Air India is reported to have a debt of Rs 43,777 crore and cumulative losses of around Rs 20,000 crore.
Russian reaction to US backed missile shielding
US and NATO plans of missile shielding in Europe as received strong reaction from the Russians. The Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, said that the missile shielding is backed by US and is against Russians security interest as Russian wants that the shielding should not be against them, in a written legal way.
Naxal leader Kishanji killed by Police
Reportedly, Kishanji was killed on Tuesday midnight while being on the run along with Suchitra Mahato, the widow of the slain Maoist leader Sashadhar Mahato,when some 1,000 CRPF jawans and policemen, led by CoBRA commandos, launched a massive assault on a specific tip-off. Also, massive gunbattles happened between both the parties all through Wednesday and Suchitra was reportedly injured.
