Another incident of honour killing took place in the country in Haryana. And these time the family members of the girl slained an engineering student, Deepak Sharma. He was slain when he went to meet the girl in the incident took place on Wednesday at Sanghi village, about 25km from Rohtak.

The family members were against their relationship. The matter was brought to the notice of police by the uncle of Deepak Sharma. Police has registered murder case against 5 people along with the 2 brothers of the girl and her mother. None of the accused persons have been traced yet.

An honor killingis the homicide of a member of a family or social group by other members, due to the belief of the perpetrators that the victim has brought dishonor upon the family or community. Honor killings are directed mostly against women and girls, but have been extended to men.

Haryana is leading in the cases of honour killing.
