US and NATO plans of missile shielding in Europe as received strong reaction from the Russians. The Russian president Dmitry Medvedev, said that the missile shielding is backed by US and is against  Russians security interest as Russian wants that the shielding should not be against them, in a written legal way.

Whereas the deployment of missiles in Romania depicts that NATO and US have a malafide intention and the steps taken by Russia for improving the relations with US, post cold war era are not working out.   Russians have proposed a combined missile shielding with NATO, but consensus has not been reached.

The president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev retaliated to the decision of NATO and US by saying that if Russian interest is not taken into consideration then it will deploy in the west and the south of the country advanced offensive weapon systems which will target the European component of the missile defense network.

And also Moscow will halt its disarmament and arms control efforts, including participation in the new strategic arms reduction treaty with the United States.

The president Dmitry Medvedev also said that the issue can be resolved if NATO and US take requisite steps.
