Former Karnataka chief minister was granted bail by the Karnataka high court. Justice B.V.Pinto granted him the bail in the complaint regarding the denotification issue. After spending 24 days in Central Jail, former Karnataka chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has been granted bail in one of the five complaints by the State High Court. Justice Pinto also announced granting bail to former minister Krishnaiah Setty who was the fifth accused.
Mr. Yeddyurappa was the accused number one in the case.

Jayalalitha’s disproportionate assets case
The hearing on Jayalalitha’s disproportionate assets case will resume today, November 8th, 2011. A special court in Bangalore on October 21st had adjourned the hearing to a later date. The Supreme had earlier rejected a series of appeals from Jayalalitha asking for an exemption to appear in that court, which was located in a Bangalore prison. However, Tamil Nadu, Chief Minister, Jayalalitha is unlikely to appear in Court today also.
Ram Avtar Singh Jaggi murder case
Today Supreme Court noticed on High Court Judge’s Bias’s. Justices Sharma and R.N. Chandrakar declared that “None of us has pre- judged the matter against any party nor any of us is biased in the case from any angle. Suryakant Tiwari one of the accused in Jaggi murder case was convicted by the trial court, applied in the High Court but on obtaining the information from RTI about Justice Sharma’s involvement in the case before becoming judge, so he gave an application for the disqualification of the judge in this present matter but the application was dismissed by the bench.
Bail granted to Ramalinga Raju in satyam scam
Supreme Court granted bail to B. Ramalinga Raju and his brother MD, B. Rama raju in the infamous satyam scam the bail was granted by a bench comprising Justices Dalveer Bhandari and Deepak Misra. Earlier they have been charged of defrauding the funds and cheating the investor in the company and misrepresenting the figures of the company.
New Law on Apartments
With the rapidly increase of pollution and demand for the apartments in Jaipur, the state government is planning to formulate a new policy Apartment Act to safeguard the interest of buyers and developers. The state doesn’t have any policy to safeguard the interest of purchaser and developers and with the drawback of this around 20000 new apartments are under construction in the State Capital itself. P.K. Deb, additional chief secretary, urban developing and housing said that this law will safeguard the interest of the purchaser and develop a system to address their grievances. In 2009 the state government had drafted a policy and sent it to the center for the approval and after approval from the cabinet it was referred to the center. But the Union government had made some observations and sent it back to the State government for the amendments.
Amendment in Prasar Bharati Bill
Today Central Government is going to make some amendment in the Prasar Bharati Bill by approving the amendment to the law governing the public broadcasting by making it clear that recruitment done between November 1997 and October 2007 will be consider as deemed deputation till retirement. The Union Cabinet cleared the proposal to make some official amendments to the Prasar Bharati (Broadcasting Corporation of India) Amendment Bill, 2010 pending in Rajya Sabha in Parliament.
Madras High Court Judge claims discrimination
A Madras High Court judge has alleged that he has been subjected to victimization on the grounds of caste by his fellow lawyers and judges, accusing them of subjecting him to humiliation for taking up litigation in an independent manner. The victimized judge, Justice C S Karnanhas petitioned the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and sought an inquiry. While he has not mentioned caste as the reason for alleged prejudice against him, the judge’s decision to approach the Dalit watchdog has seen the commission view the case as one of caste discrimination.
Tata Motors Challenges Calcutta High Court Singur Issue
The land acquisition controversy in Singur by the Tata Motors began way back in 2006. The said acquisition was for setting up a manufacturing unit for Tata’s Nano car. The acquisition aggravated the peasants and the landowners of the said area. They claimed that the employment opportunities projected by the industry were not in par with the benefits that their land provided to them. It was a clear indication that the farmers and the localities were against the land acquisition. However subsequent to these rampant protests Tata Motors scraped the Singur project and shifted the plant to Sanand in Gujarat in 2008.
