Siddharth Behura bail denied in 2G case

Siddharth BehuraThe former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura was denied bail by the Delhi High Court in the 2G spectrum allocation scam. He was arrested along with the former telecom minister A Raja on February 2 of this year. Siddharth Behura and A Raja are the only two people who are still in jail as all the other 12 accused have been granted bail by the various courts.

Mullaperiyar dam: SC criticizes TN, Kerala for adding fuel to fire

UID ‘Aadhar’ Bill rejected by the Parliament

HC notice to Centre and TRAI regarding per day SMS cap

sms capThe Delhi High Court has asked the Centre as well as the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to reply to the petition filed by the NGO – Telecom Watchdog, challenging the Central Government’s move limiting the number of SMS per day per SIM to 200. The reply is to be submitted within two weeks and the matter has been posted for next hearing on January 18.

Lokpal Bill likely to be tabled on the 9th

lokpalThe Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Law and Justice, which has been examining the Lokpal Bill draft, Mr. Abhishek Singhvi has said that there would be no delay except of a “couple of days” for the Committee to submit the report on the anti-graft Lokpal bill before the Union Parliament. Singhvi who met with the media after his meeting with the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari told the media said that is the report is adopted the following day, the bill is likely to be tabled in the Parliament within the next two or three days. Singhvi further added that the time extension is technical as it is rudimentarily for translation and printing of the bill and this cannot be expressed as a delay in the real sense.
