US citizen sentenced to 2 years in Thailand for defamation

Joe GordonJoe Gordon, 55 year old Thai born US citizen was sentenced to two and a half years in prison by a court in Thailand for posting excerpts of the biography of King Bhumibol Adulyadej which has been banned locally. He has been detained since his arrest in May. The American pleaded guilty in October and due to this the Criminal Court reduced his sentence to two and a half years from five years.

New York Courts now closed for the civil union divorce

If gay or lesbian legally married or validly entered into a same sex civil union or domestic partnership in another state and other partner currently reside in New York State, then the New York Courts are now open to deal with dissolution of same sex relationship. With all the consideration and observation being accorded on the legalization of same-sex marriage in New York State, there is another line being formed there as well, the line of those couples which are in need to get divorced. It’s not reasonably as romantic, but from legal and economic aspects the approach to a divorce court is possibly even more worthwhile for the conflict in couples, but to the larger number of gay and lesbian community as well. Access to impartial and balenced divorce proceedings are important, but being set free of marital limitation when the relationship is over is significant.

Michigan Bride Arrested on warrant misses court date

In Michigan a new bride arrested on a 3 year old warrant and jailed wearing her wedding dress has missed her day in court.

On Monday 53 year old Tammy Lee Hilton failed to appear in the Jackson County District Court and arrested in the wedding dress on a felony warrant of identity theft charges after exchanging vows at a Jackson area church. The Jackson Citizen Patriot reports Hinton was fixed to show her presence on Monday, July 18, 2011, in Jackson County District Court, but she missed the court date.
