SURVEY UNVEILS RISE OF CYBER ATTACKS IN INDIA

cyber_attacksA recent survey conducted by Microsoft has revealed the sharp rise in the cyber-attacks in India in the recent times. Most online users have been victims of cyber-attacks in India. The loss of personal data and email account hacking are the primary concerns. The trend in cyber world has transformed the conventions facilitating services beyond imagination. The online users in India have a great concern over the social network account hacking rather than the personal information theft. The protection of personal information like credit card information, bank account details and other confidential personal data is not the primary focus. The theft of the personal information can pose a dangerous threat making the user vulnerable to identity theft. The survey indicates majority use online servicesfor accessing social networking sites, while some for entertainment, few for research. The 90% of the systems have anti-virus soft wares installed on their laptops, computers. Mostly the free anti- virus tools are used. The users suffer lot of damages as top priority is not made to secure personal information.
