Nun fighting for tribal rights killed
52-year-old Valsa hailing from Vazhakala at Kakkanad in Ernakulam District was found dead in the Jharkhand. Valsa was working for the upliftment of tribal’s in the Jharkhand areas. Her family claims that she has been getting frequent death threats from the mining mafia located nearby. Also, naxal pamphlets were recovered from the site of the death, which is indicative of the naxal involvement in this particular death. However, the police consider this to have been a measure to divert the investigation process.
Agni-II prime test fired
India, on Tuesday, 15th November, 2011 fired its new missile Agni- II Prime. The surface-to-surface intermediate range missile was test-fired from a mobile launcher at from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Wheeler Island, about 100 km from Balasore at a place called Odisha. A Representative from the Defense Ministry said that this missile would be called Agni – IV.
