Woman gets life term for killing husband
Life time imprisonment was given by the Delhi High Court to the women named Manku for battering her husband to death and cutting off his genitals. Manku’s Husband Raju (35yeras old was found wrapped in a mat bearing multiple wounds caused by a ‘silwata’ (a kitchen implement to blend spices). His genitals too was found cut off with a sickle and there was no sign of his wife. She was later arrested by the police from her home village in Datia District Madhya Pradesh where she had fled after committing the crime. The police also recovered the ‘silwata’ and the sickle, besides her blood-stained clothes and other vital material of evidence. However the judge N K Kaushik held that this case cannot be considered as rarest of rarest so death sentence cannot be given and also the court failed to point out the actual reason for Murder of her husband and the Jude argued that:

Prez rejects a mercy plea of a KLF member involved in a bomb blast
The president in a process to clear the long list of mercy plea petitions pending before her office has rejected a mercy petition of a member of the Khalistan Liberation Force who was convicted in a bomb blast in New Delhi killing the then Youth Congress leader M.S.Bitta and 12 others. This decision comes after many Sikh activists and Human Rights groups have campaigned for the plea to be accepted. The Supreme Court in a recent case has expressed its intention to probe into the reason for the delay of the mercy petitions specially this one. This decision of the president makes the Parliamentary attacks convict Afsal Guru’s case more interesting as similar support to accept his mercy petition have been going on for years but his plea is way down the order in the list.

Delhi government proposes fast track courts for rape cases
The Delhi government wrote a letter to the chief justice of Delhi High court to build up fast track courts for ensuring speedy justice to rape victims, state Women and Child.
