Russian rocket Soyuz successfully launched

SoyuzOn Monday morning, the Russian rocket Soyuz was successfully launched in Kazhazhstab beginning its two days trip to the International Space Station. The rocket carries an American,Daniel C. Burbank, and two Russians, Anton N. Shkaplerov and Anatoly A. Ivanishin. It was scheduled to be launched in September, but the launch was delayed due to certain technical hitches which occurred in an unmanned rocket cargo in August. However, Russia has rectified all its drawback and have launched Soyuz TMA-22.
The Soyuz TMA-22 capsule is scheduled to dock at the space station on Wednesday morning, in time to relieve the crew of three who have been there since June and are due to return to Earth next week.
In addition to carrying out dozens of scientific experiments, the newly arrived space station team will inaugurate the new era of commercial space expeditions, including the launch of a Falcon 9 rocket, built by Space Exploration Technologies Corporation of Hawthorne, known as SpaceX, to deliver supplies to the station using a reusable capsule called a Dragon.
As per NASA reports, another commercial resupply ship being built by Orbital Sciences Corporation of Dulles, is expected to make the trip to the station next year.

Suicide bomber shot dead near Afghan jirga site

suicide_bomberOn Monday in Kabul a suspected suicide bomber who was carrying a bag of explosives shot dead near the site of a major meeting of Afghan elders set to discuss relations with the US officials.
The NATO and the Afghan officials led military in Afghanistan said that the document was fake, but the leak and the killing highlight tight security around the jirga as the Taliban threaten to target those taking part.
Interior minister spoke man Sediq Sediqqi said that No one killed but the bomber.
Lutfullah Mashal, spokesman for Afghanistan’s intelligence service the National Directorate of Security (NDS), said the man’s bag blew up as he was shot.
He said that the suicide bomber who wanted to enter the polytechnic university was identified and shot dead by security forces and his explosives detonated as he was shot dead, which he was carrying it in a laptop-type bag,
The NDS later said in a statement that two other men were arrested alongside the attacker.
After this some of those who are taking part in the jirga said that they were now afraid to participate because of the Taliban threats.
The security incidents even before the jirga has already created fear among the people and participants, said delegate Haji Barai, head of Kabul’s provincial council.
It has even made me hesitate about whether to participate in the jirga or not… I might cancel going there.
Late Sunday, the Taliban published on their website an alleged security plan claiming to show a satellite map of the venue where the event will take place, mobile phone numbers of top security officials and details of security force deployments.
The vigilant mujahedeen of the Islamic emirate (the Taliban) have acquired the security plans, maps and other documents related to the upcoming supposed loya jirga, the militant group said in a statement sent to media.
The Taliban said the documents were seized by means of its personnel embedded inside the enemy ranks.
A spokesman for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), Commodore William Truelove, called the document a fabricated piece of propaganda and said it was an attempt to disrupt this peaceful jirga.

Progress and development of talks between Israel and Palestine

US said that in 2 separate talks with envoys of Israel and Palestine has been constructive to some extent but making progress has yet not been possible.
US officials said that the main aim of this talk was to bring the both parties against each other on the table of negotiations.
They talked about different development proposals but the talk couldn’t lead to any breakthrough .issues of territory and security were discussed. Israel has been under pressure from the countries of European union and Russia to deal the issue of two state solution. Since Palestine applied for UN membership which is being opposed by Israel.
In late Oct., the Palestinian National Authority was admitted to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization as a full member, prompting the U.S. and Israel to move respectively to halt financial contributions to the organization and speed up housing construction in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
After the latest meetings, the Palestinians reiterated their demand for a halt to Jewish settlement building in East Jerusalem and the West Bank before direct talks can resume.
It is being estimated that both the parties are going to present comprehensive proposals against each other which will ultimately lead to various agreement and development ties between the both parties.

Burma: Moving towards a road to Democracy

Aung San Suu Kyi called for a determination to hold the democratic credentials. She had been struggling for bringing in democracy for almost 2 decades she was speaking on the 1st year after she was released from the house arrest. Now, currently Burma is taking some democratic initiatives and as a result it is going to allow the labour unions to operate in the country as well as it is going to release the political prisoners. The law permits unions with a minimum of 30 members to be formed and allows a strike if a notice period is given.
Unions have not been allowed to operate in Burma since 1962.
According to her Burma is moving on a road to democracy and the rule of law is getting established which should be appreciated. But she said: I think we are looking at the road and we need faith and daring to proceed along this path.
The pro-democracy leader described the past year as eventful, energizing and to a certain extent encouraging. Some political prisoners had been released, she noted, but others remained in detention.

Syria appeals to Arab League to prevent suspension

Arab-LeagueSyria has called for an emergency meeting of the Arab League in the a effort to prevent being suspended by the Arab League.
The Arab League’s decision to suspend Syria and impose sanctions over its violent crackdown on eight months of protests against President Bashar al-Assad infuriated Damascus and triggered attacks on Saudi Arabian, French and Turkish missions in Syria on Saturday night.
The UN who had condemned these attacks on protesters and also countries such as France, USA who asked President Assad to step aside welcomed the move by the Arab League which takes effect on Wednesday.
Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby said on Sunday that League officials would meet representatives of Syrian opposition groups on Tuesday, but added that it was too soon for the Cairo-based body to consider recognising the Syrian opposition as the country’s legitimate authority.
