INDIA ATTACHMENT TO JAPAN LOST CHINA’S SUPPORT FOR UNSC BID

Japan India china bidChinese officials have said that at one point of time, China was ready to back India for its UNSC bid and also was on the move to delink its relation with Pakistan.

The officials were found to be sharing information with CPI (M) Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury that China was even ready to support India’s bid for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council if India had not associated its bid with Japan.

Yechury who was in Beijing on 16th July on an invitation by the Communist Party of China’s International Department told Indian reporters about China’s willingness to improve relations with India.

The Chinese government officials were reported to have given the reason of China’s reluctance in backing India’s bid as a permanent member of the UNSC because of the reason that it had associated its bid along with Japan, Germany and Brazil under the banner of G4 group of nations.

And an assurance was made that China’s presence in PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) was only on humanitarian grounds.
