On Prayer Day, Texas Governor Sued

Texas Governor SuedDuring prayer rally which has met the ire of the Freedom from Religion Foundation, which has filed a federal lawsuit trying to prevent Governor Rick from taking part in the prayer day as he has been sued over his prayer rally.

Allegation imposed upon the governor from Freedom from Religion Foundation that Perry’s participation in the prayer rally would violating the establishment clause on which there is constitutional ban that prevents the government from establishing the religion.
The Response is the name of prayer rally which is set to takes place on August 6 for 7 hours duration, not only support and uphold by Gov. Perry but also by many Texas based pastors and religious groups.
According to some speculation the event will hold about 6,000 participants and Perry even endorsed the event in an online video, saying that he was calling Americans to pray and to fast like Jesus did and further said that event would be a non denominational apolitical Christian prayer meeting.

Previously a lawsuit has been filed against him by Freedom from Religion Foundation for the National day prayer, which was passed into law by congress. According to this lawsuit Freedom from Religion unsuccessfully argued that the day of prayer was unconstitutional under the establishment clause.
