A gunman, who walked into the Big 5 Sporting Goods store, grabbed several guns and started shooting, was shot dead by the Watsonville police on Tuesday afternoon.

As per the report given by the store manager, the man walked into the store and asked to buy a gun. Though he left when he was told that he would have to wait several days for a background check, he returned to the store with a tool box and broke open the gun case.

The police stated that the shooter was unable to get the safety unlocked on the first gun that was grabbed by him and therefore he threw the gun down and grabbed a shot gun. The suspect then fired several shots after loading the shot gun.

The store manager made a call to the police and the police were present within few minutes.
