The Indian Cyber Law is under the Information Technology (IT) ACT 2000 drastically amended in 2008 as Information Technology Amendment Act 2008 (IT Act 2008). This amendment is made to strengthen the  Indian Cyber Law, but instead it has made the law ineffective. The issues like E-commerce, E-governance, Cyber Security are vague and practically not able to cater to the needs. Most of the cyber crimes under the amended act are bail able offenses  providing a safe heaven  for computer criminals. The experts feel that a repeal in Indian Cyber Law by making separate  and “Independent Legislation” for the above topics would be good.
