Canada is turning out to be a centre for cyber crimes in the recent times. The report given by Financial Post indicates that a lot of cyber crimes have taken place from Canada.  Lot of Canadian servers had traces of cyber crimes like phishing, theft of confidential information to name a few.

Many servers in Canada hosted websites to lure the online users making them to give out personal and confidential information which were used to launch identity theft attacks. There is also a tremendous increase in the automated hacking tools and bot net which disrupt the operations of any network at an unimaginable rate.

The rate of increase in cyber crimes is shocking in Canada (319%), the only country to show such an increase. The bot nets rising @ 59% over the last eight years.  Canada is ranked sixth in terms of overall cyber crime.

Although the investigation is carried on by web sense, it failed to pinpoint the source for these cyber crimes. Most of the attackers take remote control over the servers of Canada to execute cyber-attacks.

The absence of effective legislation in cyber related issues have been exploited by many computer criminals to use the resources of Canada for cyber crimes.
