In Honour of Steve Jobs


‘Steve Jobs, the instigator behind a realm of products that transformed ‘computing, telephony and the music industry’, has passed away in California at the age of 56, marking a great loss to the world.’

Steve P Jobs was born on February 24, 1955 to then unmarried American mother, Joanne Carole Schieble and Syrian father Abdulfattah Jandali, a political science professor, in San Francisco, California. He was one of the greatest visionaries that the world had ever seen. Steve was then adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs. He married Laurene Powell in 1991 after he met her at a speech at Stanford’s Graduate Business School. He is the co founder of Apple Inc. He had been fighting a rare form of pancreatic cancer for almost 7 years and could no longer continue in his position as the CEO He had stepped down as the CEO of Apple Inc. on August 24, 2011. The world on 5th October, Wednesday mourned the death of Steve.

Steve started his career by starting the company Apple in his family garage in Los Alto, California at the age of 21 as a drop out from the college along with another friend Steve Wozniak. Wozniak was the engineer for the company and Jobs was the salesman. With the accomplishment of Apple II that developed the arena of personal computer Steve became a millionaire at the age of 25 in 1980.In 1985 Steve got sacked of his own company, Apple by John Sculley who had been hired from Pepsi by Steve himself. This led him to build NeXT, a rival company to Mac and Pixar a computer animation studio in 1986, which got a distribution deal with Walt Disney. Subsequently Pixar was bought by Walt Disney and NeXT by Apple. Steve became the interim CEO of Apple when Gil Amelio the then CEO left the company. Later the company decided to take away the title ‘interim’ from his position and during his second reign over the company, Steve launched i Mac, a combination of computer and monitor into a single unit that helped to restore Apple completely.

Steve who was the mastermind behind all recent inventions like i Phone, i Pod , i Pad, i Tunes and i Cloud  had in fact transformed the day to day life of billions around the globe. By his death the world has now lost a charismatic leader and a visionary who can never be replaced.
