DMK leader MK Stalin to face defamation charges

MK StalinMK Stalin, DMK Leader and the son of former TN Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has been threatened to be slammed with defamation charges by the AIADMK government.  The DMK leader had submitted a petition accusing the Chief Minister Jayalalitha of land grabbing charges in the Kodanadu area of the Nilgiris district, to the state DGP. This came a day after the Chennai Police had registered a case against him and his son Udayanidhi  in a land grabbing case where they had allegedly forced a businessman to give away his land at a rate which was way lower that the market price of the land.

Tamil Nadu State law minister M Paranjothi said that the DMK leader is making false allegations against the Chief Minister and is doing so just to divert the attention away from the land grabbing case for which he is one of the accused. MK Stalin has said that he challenges the AIADMK government to initiate defamation proceedings against him and that he was ready to fight it out in the court.
