White_House_shooting_suspect_arrestedAccording to official source, Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, who was detained by Pennsylvania State Police Wednesday, was allegedly involved in a shooting on 11th November, that may be responsible for two bullets found at the White House Tuesday, the 16th of November. One bullet hit a window and was stopped by bulletproof glass, and another was found on the White House exterior. Initial police reports said the Friday shooting at around 9 p.m. involved two cars speeding along Constitution Avenue, the wide street south of the White House and the Ellipse. The shots were believed to have been fired from a moving car as it passed along the 1600 block, a little over a third of a mile from the White House, in an area between the White House and the Washington Monument.
Ortega-Hernandez was arrested under a US Park Police warrant issued Sunday in Washington based on a shooting that occurred at the White House on November 11. Ortega-Hernandez, originally from Idaho, was being questioned by federal authorities, according to Lt. Brad Shields of the Pennsylvania State Police. Ortega-Hernandez is to appear in federal court in Pittsburgh at 2 pm today, according to the Justice Department.
Law enforcement said Ortega moved into the D.C. area several weeks ago. His family in Idaho Falls, Idaho, had reported him missing on October 31, according to NBC Washington.
