human-trafficking racketAn international human trafficking racket was busted by the United States authorities and charged six persons for allegedly smuggling people from India and Brazil into the U.S.

The two primary smuggling routes the defendants allegedly facilitated and monitored the travel of people across the international border between Mexico and the U.S. and the second through the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Teotonio Pires, Reubens Da Silva, Sanderlei Alves DaCruz, Francismar Da Conceicao, Claudinei Pereira Mota and Priscilla LNU were the six Brazilians charged in New Jersey.

From January 2008 till June 2011, they conspired to bring the people into the country illegally as part of an elaborate profit-yielding alien smuggling scheme.
