The police reported that, after a gas leak sparked a huge explosion in the coastal Israeli city of Netanya, at least three people have died and fifteen were injured.

The blast occurred in the early hours of Friday and resulted in the collapse of the parts of a four-storey building.

The report stated that, it was at a block in a Central square the incident took place and it damaged a restaurant located on the building’s ground floor.

On the state of damaged building there arose conflicting reports.

According to the officials, they believe the same had been caused by a gas canister.

It was stated by one of the witness that, the residents had been buried beneath the debris and that cranes were used to rescue them.

The rescue services contacted by Reuters said everyone had been freed.
