The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) organized a salutation ceremony in honour of the new union law minister Salman Khurshid. Mr. Salman Khurshid is a lawyer himself, he is also a member of SBCA and was enrolled at the bar council in 1997. He also appeared in number of cases in Supreme Court in Constitutional, Commercial and other matters. He also drafted briefs in various fields of law including Commercial, Arbitration, Service and Labour matters. Khurshid was welcomed by many senior advocates, members of SCBA along with Attorney General Goolam Essaji Vahanvati, and SCBA president PH Parekh. He had a brief chat with all in the leading cases especially on the issues of civil liberties and freedom of speech and expression. Instead of a formal meeting he desired to meet all the members in Supreme Court lawn. Giving him a warm welcome by all, SCBA president Parekh asked everyone to Please come and meet our own Mr. Salman Khurshid. At the end the officials told the media as it was a very healthy meet and the discussions were result oriented.
The new law minister has proposed the Supreme Court of India to speak in one voice and regenerate and improvement in the direction of uniformity, an evasive advice that the high profile individuals arrested in the 2G spectrum scandal and other corruption cases have it coming to get bail.
