SUU KYI ACTRESSThe stunning Bond girl, Michelle Yeoh, was deported from Burma who stars as pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi in an upcoming movie.

She arrived at Rangoon, one of the country’s main city on 22nd June and was deported the very same day as she was on the blacklist according to a government official.

Though the reason for deportation was not provided with but the official said that Burma’s repressive government has routinely rejected the visa requests of journalists and perceived critics for years. Further confirmation was given by Nyan Win, who is Aung San Suu Kyi’s spokesman about the deportation of Yeoh but did not give any other details.

Yeoh upcoming movie on Aung San Suu Kyi called the ‘The Lady’ which is a Luc Besson movie is hoped to create awareness about the story of the Nobel Prize Winner. Detained by the former military junta, Aung San Suu Kyi is 66 and has spent the past 2 decades in detention. After her party boycotted from an election where she was barred from being a candidate was when she was released.

In March the junta handed over power to a civilian government which was the nation’s first vote in 20 years, but yet the critics say there has not been much change in the government style.
