Two suspected US drone strikes kill 19 in Pakistan

The intelligence officials reported that, six suspected militants and 13 people were killed in the two suspected U.S. drawn strikes in Pakistan’s tribal region on Monday, 27th of June 2011.

The first suspected drone fired two missiles on a militant’s vehicle in the Shawal area of South Waziristan, one of the seven districts of Pakistan’s volatile tribal region bordering Afghanistan, as per the particulars provided by two Pakistani intelligence officials.

The second suspected drone strike targeted a hideout in the Wana area, also in South Waziristan. This suspected drone strike which took place on Monday were the 37th and 38th of this year, compared to 111 in all of 2010.

As the intelligence officials were not authorised to speak to the media, they were asked not to reveal their name.
