At least 30 people were died and over 100 were injured in blast that rocked the town of Malegaon on September 8, 2006, the nine accused were arrested by the Maharashtra ATS.

Masood Ahmed ABDUL Ahmed, brother of one of the accused Dr. Salman Farsi said that they have received the result of the battle that they fought for 5 long years. He said that he hope all the accused will be proved innocent in the court of law soon.

It has been a long battle quite literally for Advocate Jaleel Ahmed, he fought his younger brother Abrar Ahmed’s case in court, Abrar had retracted a confession he claimed to have made under pressure.

The National Investigation Agency’s decided not to oppose bail in view of Swami Aseemanand’s confession brought relief to the families of the accused; this decision has also raised some serious questions over not only the ATS’ probe but also that of the CBI, which was investigating the case before NIA took over.
