Salman Khurshid takes law ministry

Salman Khursheed law minister

Manmohan Singh reshuffles his cabinet. Salmaan Khursheed has been appointed as new Law Minister of India replacing Veerappa Moily. Moily holds the charge of corporate affairs portfolio.

The oath and the official ceremony will take place today at 5 p.m. beyond the administration of the President of India. The four most important ministries finance, defence, home, and external affairs remain unchanged, according to the press release.

Born in 1953, Khursheed is an experienced politician. Elected for lok sabha in 1991 and in the same year became the union deputy minister in the commerce ministry. In 1993 he was appointed as union minister of state in the external affairs department. His big achievement was appointment as president of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee in 1999 and afterwards general secretary of All India Congress Committee in 2004. He was elected in lok sabha for the second term in 2009.

As a charge of a law minister he can be a remarkable minister as he was a senior advocate in Apex Court of in India and senior counsel in 1999. In his starting he was senior partner of many big law firms such as Talib luthra & Associates.

So can now we decide OUR LAW IS IN SAFE HANDS or we will have the same ambiguous laws as Moily did in his tenure.
