The latest trend in cyber crimes is the cyber-attacks on various law firms. The law firms are turning a favourite spot for many cyber criminals. The law firms are supposed to maintain a lot of confidential and sensitive client information. The law firms generally maintain records of client information and other important information are not equipped with the latest security measures and patches. The security of the system which contains all these information should be given proper protection in terms of cyber security .The attacks are infiltrated by using remote tools which are disguised.  Since the latest practices enable controlling the system from a remote location the attackers use such strategies to penetrate into the system.

The physical security along with the latest cyber security patches would help to reduce the impact of the threats. The authentication protocol also should be used like login-ids, passwords. The use of firewalls and anti – virus tools should be utilized. The law firms who deal with litigation especially should be more vigilant and reasonable measures should be adopted. A lot of law firms in China have been facing such attacks in the recent times.

The law firms should use mechanisms to find out what kind of information may be generally of use to the outsiders.  This analysis helps them to restrict access to information to other information apart from this. The extra amount should be spent on purchase of latest security products and persons with special security skill should be appointed. Thus, law firms need to move step forward to counter cyber security threats.
