Transferred cop Mahabole denies his role in J Dey’s murder

Anil Mahabole Assistant Commissioner of PoliceAssistant Commissioner of Police Anil Mahabole has said that he has no objections to being interrogated the murder of investigative reporter J Dey who was shot on Saturday evening while he was riding his two-wheeler down a crowded Mumbai street. Mr Mahabole said that any attempts to link him to Mr Jey’s death are intended “to defame me. Dey was a senior person and I had high regard for him”, Assistant Commissioner of Police also told that Mr. Dey may have been killed because of recent stories that focused on the oil mafia. He had also reported on alleged links between a section of the Mumbai police force and the D-company, the notorious gang operated by underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Mahabole also welcomed to summon and question him if required and he also denied reports that he has been transferred after Mr Dey’s death as Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mumbai – Zone 1 to the local arms division.
