INDIAN HOT ON HEADLY CHASE FOR PUNE BLAST

David coleman headley pune blast

An active pursuit against ISI and Lakshar-e-Taiba operative David Coleman Headley has been decided by filling chargesheets against him in the 26/11 attacks case and German Bakery blast of Pune of February 13, 2010.

Both cases are with the National Investigation Agency and Indian expects to receive all evidences and documents submitted by the US authorities for the trial of Tahawwur Husain Rana in the next fifteen days.

According to sources, Headley admitted that he had gone recee of the German Bakery as well as apart from scouting targets for the Mumbai attacks.

According to a government official they consider him as a vital admission and they are going to press for extradition and after studying the documents received from the US, if necessary a team will be send to US.

The Maharashtra Anti- Terrorism Squad (ATS) has already filed a chargesheet against seven accused in the case but they believe that those chargesheeting in the case had only peripheral role in the conspiracy.

In the wake of admission by al-Qaeda operative Mustafa al Yazid claiming responsibility of the blast, Hedley’s testimony has become even more important.

In an e-mail send to a Pakistani journalist, Syed Saleem Shahzad, by Ilyas Kashmiri (claimed to be dead in a recent drone attack) claimed indirect responsibility of the blast. Now Hedley’s testimony makes it clear that he was close to Ilyas Kashmiri.

Government sources believe there is a need to investigate in this manner as there is little evidence of involvement of Rana in 26/11 attack.
