China factory blast, 6th in a month, kills 14

China_factory_blastAgain a factory blast took place in China on Saturday. This blast was took place at a melamine production factory in Xintai on Saturday.

It was taken place in a chemical plant in east China’s Shandong province in which at least 14 workers have died. The explosion was occurred around 2pm when workers were maintaining and repairing a condenser.

Xinhau news agency reported that four workers were died immediately and a further 10 died in hospital. The five injured were in a stable condition and an investigation into the cause of the accident was under way.

This is the sixth blast in about a month and highlights lack of safety measures in the factories, where 200 people died every month in accidents but still no proper precaution is taken by the owners of the factories.

This factory is run by Shandong Limited Chemical Industry Co. which changed ownership pattern from being a state run unit to a shareholding company.
