On Friday, a team of Delhi Police along with some labor department officials rescued around 29 child laborers from a shoe factory where they were forced to work for around 15 hrs daily in inhumane conditions. This took place in the wake of a complaint registered by the NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan. The shoe factory is located in Nangloi, west Delhi.
The NGO claimed that most of the children were those who had been trafficked from certain parts of Bihar, UP, West Bengal and even from Nepal.
The destiny of the poor children can be pitied upon by the very words of a rescued Nepali boy who claimed that his group was brought here by an uncle who promised their parents that he would educate and get them employment.
All the rescued children say that it has it has been more than 3 months since they left home.
Sources claim that all the children are below the age of 14yrs and were forced to work for 14-15 hrs daily.
