US extends trade relations with Asia in the APEC summit

US army sergeant held guilty of murdering afghan civilians

Gibbs_army_sergeantAn us army official Gibbs was found guilty and convicted by the court martial for killings of unarmed villagers and cutting fingers from their corpse in the khandhar area of Afghanistan. He was charged of murder, conspiracy and other offenses, he was found guilty of beating a soldier who reported hashish use to superiors and of military code violations for cutting fingers off bodies as war trophies.  He argued that the two murders of which he is charged of were not premeditated and they were in self defense. The prosecution put a barbaric picture of these officials but prosecution witnesses portrayed him as a blood-thirsty renegade who intimidated fellow soldiers to commit such heinous crimes.

New US Patent Law

patent_lawThe new Patent law has been introduced in United State under which there are some changes are made in this law. In the first change the USPTO has become a first to file system rather than first to invent system. This change attached the first inventor to file system of prosecuting patents. In the second change there is an extended period after the grant of the patent for public objection. The third change is a removal of interference proceedings, which make be defined as the appeal process. This new law will impact the way patents are filed, prosecuted, and litigated in the future. And according to local experts, it will take many years to determine the full impact of the law.

New Liquor law approved by Washington State

Liquor_lawNew liquor law has been approved by the Washington voters. Under this law it has been approved a plan to privatize liquor sales. This measure under this law was supported by many votes. Costco Wholesale Corporation committed $ 22 million to support in this measure, which will separate the control that have been in place since Prohibition.

Credit Suisse bows under US pressure

us_credit_pressureSwiss bank Credit Suisse has sent letters to some US clients, stating that theiraccount details may be given to the Internal Revenue Service,  it covers accounts open from 2002 to the end of last year. Clients are told they can either agree to the handover of data to Swiss tax authorities who can send it to their US counterparts, or contest the process.
