India cannot feed its people- says Canadian media

india cannot feed peopleIndia is making big news in Canada not for the second highest growth rate in the world but for its poverty, scarcity and failure to feed its people.

The biggest daily Toronto Star reported from New Delhi Why India can’t feed its people. The report said the agriculture, infrastructure, inflation and corruption are the second factor; the first factor to think is food, as the people don’t have food to eat” it’s the biggest challenge for 1.2 billion people.

The Canadian media has also likened the boom in Bihar to a whimper.

According to the reports 40 percent of the Indian children live in an unhealthy manner with chronically malnourished. The reports also pointed out the children in UP eating mud to survive. In 2008, the most recent year for which statistics are available, India produced 436 grams of food grains per person per day, a drop from 445.3 in 2006.”

The reports make it horrible as it says that the country wastes more grain each year than Australia produces, and more fruits and vegetables than the UK consumes” as 40 percent to Indian foods grain are never into the market.

It a shame for us as the reports said there are more than 200,000 suicide in agricultural sector from the year 1997.

The reports praised Bihar Chief Minister by calling him a teetotal ling socialist engineer. Report said that Bihar as a lowest literacy rate, the highest child-mortality rate and the lowest life expectancy in India has marked a lot of drastic changes in recent year under the reformative chief minister. They added 15 years of destruction led Bihar 50 years back at least Nitish Kumar has bring it to 1980’s.

Well as a citizen of India it’s a shame for me to report this but truth is a truth and cannot be hidden. It’s time to awake ourselves.
