amish man sextingThe Indiana police reported that an Amish man, who arrived in a horse-drawn buggy for a presumed rendezvous with a 12 year old girl to whom he had sent sexually explicit cell phone messages, was arrested by them.

It was on Wednesday, 22 June 2011, William R Yoder, who was 21 years of age was detained by the officers, after he rode up to the Takathemoke Restaurant in Milroy, Indiana, and moved towards an undercover agent.

Connersville, Indiana police Detective Craig Pennington, stated that the suspect arrived in a one-horse carriage and was identified by the undercover officer confirming his identity and was soon taken into custody without incident.

Yoder was taken to Fayette County jail that was about 60 miles east of Indianapolis. There in a videotaped statement he confessed that he had sent video messages, naked pictures of himself and lewd text messages.

As per the information submitted by Pennington, Yoder made a statement that, he believed he was going to have sex with the girl and he later realised the decision was bad and also assured that he had never done anything like this before.

The girl’s parents contacted police in Connersville to report that their daughter had received three sexually explicit messages, including a request that she send back naked pictures of herself, and it was on the basis of this complaint the case came into light.

The Indiana State Police, to whom the phone was handed over, conducted a forensic examination which revealed that 600 text messages, along with six picture messages and two video messages had been exchanged between the girl and Yoder.

Pennington stated that he was happy as no further victimisation occurred and as Yoder was truthful in his description.

The bond was set $20,000 with a preliminary trial date of September 19th.
