2G case: Karim Morani’s bail plea rejected, to be taken to Tihar Jail

Delhi’s Tihar jail will soon have another VIP inmate Cinevug Films’ Karim Morani whose bail plea has been dismissed, his name is added as the co-conspirator in 2G scam by the CBI for facilitating payments to Kalaignar TV.

A  special CBI court reserved its order on his bail plea and said” The accused used every possible legal subterfuge to delay the ultimate as he filed seven application within a span of less than a month …. An accused is entitled to avail all legal remedies available on his conduct indicating he is interested in deliberately delaying the disposal of the matter by seeking data after date, on one pretext or the other.”

Morani had been seeking exemptions from court appearances citing medical grounds. His family has a press released that” The family is completely shattered by the way his medical condition was ignored in the case of his anticipatory bail application. The law must take its course, a sick man should be given the right to protect his  health and justice will prevail.”said the statement.

CBI said in its second chargesheet that Swan Telecom  and Dynamic Realty Promoters Shahid Usman Balwa and Vinod Goneka channeled Rs.200 crore to DMK family – run Kalaignar TV, through Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd and Morani’s Cineyug Films Pvt Ltd.
