UID ‘Aadhar’ Bill rejected by the Parliament

Panama ex-dictator Manuel Noriega extradited to Panama

Manuel NoriegaPanama’s former military dictator Manuel Noriega has been extradited from France to his homeland to serve a term of 20 years for the crimes committed during his notorious 1983-89 regime. Noriega has been behind the bars in United States and France for the last two decades for the murder of his opponents during his rule.  General Manuel Noriega was never the President of Panama however he was the Panama’s de facto leader from 1983 to 1989, when the commission of the brutal murders happened.

India faces criticism from EU over climate deal

European UnionIndia faced severe censure from the European Union (EU) when it blamed India for upholding a “relatively tough stand”, obstructing a fresh legally-binding climate accord which was to be arrived at Durban. India has rejected the accusation from EU and affirmed that it was open for a dialogue concerning a binding climate deal. India also said that the question of equity and the right to grow must be considered while discussing a legally-binding climate agreement.

Kolkata fire: AMRI hospital directors to be produced before Court

AMRI hospitalAMRI hospital’s six directors are likely to be produced before a Kolkata court on Saturday for charges including negligence which has been taken against the hospital. This is consequent to the tragedy that occurred at the hospital on Friday which claimed the life of as many as 90 lives. Congress website hacked, Profile of Sonia Gandhi defaced

Sonia GandhiOn the day when the Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi is celebrating her 65th birthday, hackers broke into the official website of India’s ruling Congress party official website and defaced the profile of Ms. Sonia Gandhi. The profile of the party president was replaced with text having sexual innuendo which included a reference to a Pakistan based e-mail address. However, it is still unknown as to whom the hackers are.
