An association of the displaced Kashmiris filed PIL against noted writer Arundhati Roy for her derogatory remarks on Kashmir issue. Earlier Arundhati Roy had expressed in New York that the people of Kashmir have right to self determination. The PIL was filed by Veer Saraf, Ajay Bhat and Vijay Kashkari, all members of the Routes, an organization of Kashmir Pandits based in Jammu and Delhi. The PIL has sought the impounding of the passport of arundhati Roy and taking actions against Arundhati Roy’s for giving statements on Kashmir in and outside India.

Important bills in the winter season, says PM
As the winter session of the Parliament is all set to begin today, talks and debates have been going on with respect to the new bills that are likely to be introduced. In this context, the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, in an interview with the media persons said that few very important bills are likely to be presented in this winter session of the Parliament. These bills are expected to cover a wide range of issues, ranging from the Judicial Accountability Bill, The Right to Food Bill, Education Bill etc. The Prime Minster hopes that these important bills will proceed smoothly in the Parliament and will not be boycotted.

US promises to fix inaccurate India map
Complaints were on the rise as the US State Government had depicted a map of India with inaccurate details. In the said map, parts of Jammu and Kashmir was depicted as part of Pakistan. State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters Monday that they have already removed the said map from the website owing to the inaccuracies found in it. She also said that the mistakes and inaccuracies depicted were purely unintentional. It will be rectified and the correct map will be posted up on the website very soon. She also said that the inaccuracy occurred due to a wrong drawing.
Cuban farmers are allowed to directly sell their products
As reported by Granma, the official communist newspaper in Cuba, farmers there can now sell their goods directly to tourist hotels and restaurants from 1 December 2011 for the first time in decades and they don’t need to go through government middlemen anymore in order to sell their agricultural products.
