AIL filed against London Court of Arbit for foreigner back door entry

The association of Indian lawyers (AIL) has filed a case against the Delhi-based court of international Arbitration (LCIA), wanting to exercise “London court” and alleging that the arbitration organization is introducing foreign law and lawyers under the grab of arbitration. “The defendant (LCIA) is trying to circumvent the law by allowing foreign legal practitioners to provide professional legal services in the grab of conducting arbitration”

Central Bank ties up with Angel Broking for on-line trading

Public sector lender Central Bank of India entered into a tie-up with broking house Angel Broking to offer on-line trading services platform to its customers. This platform allows the bank’s customers to trade online, and manage all the three accounts–Deposit, Demat and Trading with a single online interface. The customers have the choice of selecting on-line trading, mobile trading or a dealing facility through the phone.

NUALS Kochi’s National maiden batch: 24 non-lit, 7 foreign LLM,4 senior lit

NUALSThe Committee for Campus Recruitment (CCR) of NUALS Kochi’s first graduating batch after it was recognized as a national law university has found desk jobs for almost half its students. 28 students have been given offer letters by various law-firm, corporate houses and advocates. 47 students had participated in the recruitment process out of a total batch of 58 students. Around 41 per cent of the batches were placed with law-firms and corporate houses either through pre-placement offers (PPOs), the top law firm recruiters were Lakshmi Kumaran and Sridharan with four offers and Desai & Diwanji with three. ICICI Bank and Vedanta both recruited three. Four students would be working with senior advocates of the Kerala high court, after having been offered PPOs by senior advocates. A few others would also be working in the chambers of senior advocates and pursue litigation as a career. Five students will be studying master’s degrees from the National University of Singapore (NUS), while one student each will be doing LLMs from Duisenberg School of Finance in Amsterdam and Queen Mary University of London.

CHILD ABUSE IN INDIA

Child AbuseChildren are the assets of a country. They mould and binds tomorrow’s nation. Therefore it is the duty of each and every citizen to protect these children and their interests. Instead the pathetic situation that is prevailing currently is the physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children. The bruises, burns, fractures, lacerations and abrasions, abdominal injuries and human bites are the indicators of physical abuse. The behavioral indicators of physical abuse are that the abused child becomes reluctant to contact with adults, he /she becomes apprehensive when other children cry, show aggressiveness in behaviour, seem frightened of parents or caretakers and afraid to go home or cries when it is time to go home. Child sexual abuse has been defined as the involvement of dependent and immature children in sexual activities they don’t fully comprehend to which they are unable to give informed consent. According to The Juvenile Justice Act 1986,the child sexual abuse is an interaction between child and the adult in which the child is being used for the sexual stimulation of the perpetrator or the other person.

ARLENE FRASER CASE

The mysterious disappearance of mother- of- two Arlene Fraser in Elgin, Moray has dominated the headlines since 1998.

ARLENE FRASER It was on April 1998 that Arlene Fraser was last seen after which there has been no news of her till date. A case was filed on her missing and Nat Fraser (missing lady’s husband) was held liable for her missing. The investigation authorities believed her to be dead and her husband was charged with the assaulting and attempting to murder his wife. The crimes are said to have taken place in the months before Mrs. Fraser vanished from her home. Later in the year 2000, Nat Fraser was jailed for 18 months for assaulting Arlene, who had been missing. Nat Fraser was again jailed for ARLENE FRASER CASEa term of 12 months after admitting legal aid fraud. Three men were indicted for the murder of Arlene Fraser and the men involved were her estranged husband Nat Fraser, his friend Hector Dick and English businessman Glenn Lucas. They all were charged with the conspiring to murder Mrs.Fraser.  In the year 2003, the trial of three men accused of murdering Arlene Fraser begins. It hears she disappeared on the day she was due to see a solicitor about a divorce. In the same year the charges against two of the three men in Edinburgh hears that the crown would not be proceeding against Hector Dick and Glenn Lucas. The key prosecution witness Hector Dick denies that he killed Arlene Fraser and he tells the court that Nat Fraser had hired a hit man to kill his wife. The husband claims he did not kill his wife rather he loved his wife and he wanted her back. And the jury in the trial of Nat Fraser finds him guilty of murdering his wife, who went missing almost 5 yrs ago. By the end of the same year Nat Fraser lodges an appeal against his conviction for murdering his wife.

FEMALE INFANTICIDE

FEMALE INFANTICIDEFemale infanticide, one of the most important social issue prevailing in the Indian society, is day-by-day increasing to a very great extent. Once the sex of the fetus is found to be that of a female, the parents opt for an abortion of the same. Daughters are hence considered to be a burden for the family. The latest data from the Indian National Census have shown gender discrimination in India to have gone horrifically off the rails as it seems that in the past ten years, more than eight million female babies have been killed by their parents under the noses and apparent consent of the Indian authorities. There is a huge decline in the number of females which undoubtedly results from the killing of female babies soon after their birth and from the abortion of the fetus after the identification of its sex.
